Maisha Africa is a nonprofit organization dedicated to transforming the lives of orphans and vulnerable children in Uganda through education, family support, and community development.

Focussed on serving Uganda’s orphans and vulnerable children through Christ-centred love and service, Maisha Africa was founded by Praise Namisi in 2010. The internationally used name is Maisha Africa since 2016. The organization provides safe and loving homes, education, healthcare, and family support to children in need.

Maisha Africa directly cares for over 30 children, supports an additional 20 children with widowed mothers, and oversees a school serving up to 400 mostly vulnerable students. Driven by a passion to reflect God’s heart, the ministry seeks lasting transformation by empowering children to be raised up as strong followers of Jesus, and serve their communities with integrity and Christlike character.

Our ministries

Orphans in Families

We are committed to keeping children with their families when possible by supporting vulnerable parents. When fully orphaned, we work to reunite them with relatives or place them in safe, loving homes within Uganda.

Education

We deliver quality education through Young Achievers Christian School and Preschool, providing young children with strong learning foundations. We also support secondary and tertiary education for children in our care.

Medical Fund

To address healthcare challenges, Maisha Africa employs a nurse to serve the most vulnerable in our community and maintains a medical fund that provides them access to necessary medical treatments and interventions.

Gospel Outreach

Together with their adopted and spiritual children, Praise and Moses have a passion to reach their generation with the love and power of God and ignite revival in Uganda and beyond.
